Visa Requirements in Europe

EUROPEAN UNION

(Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, UK)

NO VISA REQUIRED, YOU CAN STAY AS LONG AS YOU LIKE ALTHOUGH FOR STAYS OVER 90 DAYS YOU MAY NEED TO REGISTER WITH AUTHORITIES. YOU MAY BE ASKED TO SHOW PASSPORT WHEN TRAVELLING BETWEEN COUNTRIES IN THE EU BUT NOT ALWAYS. WHEN TRAVELLING FROM GREAT BRITAIN TO ANOTHER EU COUNTRY YOU WILL HAVE TO SHOW YOUR PASSPORT WHEN LEAVING THE UK AND WHEN ARRIVING. YOU ARE ALSO ELIGIBLE TO WORK ANYWHERE IN THE EU.

Bit more complicated, especially when you head out east where borders are still disputed and you have situations like Kosovo and South Ossetia. Some countries such as Russia require visas to be sorted well in advance.

Andorra
NO stay 90 days without visa.

Norway
No visa required. Although not in EU, it is in the EEA which allows you to work and live in the country by applying for a permit from Norwegian authorities.

Iceland
NO stay 90 days without visa.

Russia
Visa required. Apply well in advance of you’re visit. You need entry and exit visa as well as pre-arranged travel itinery.

Belarus
Visa required even if just travelling through Belarus, for example travelling by train from Moscow to Warsaw. Apply to Belarusian consulate before visit.

Ukraine
NO stay 90 days without visa

Moldova
NO stay 90 days without visa

Croatia
NO stay 90 days without visa

Bosnia & Herzegovina
NO stay 90 days without visa

Serbia
NO stay 90 days without visa. You may not be allowed in if arriving from Kosovo unless you originally entered Kosovo through Serbia.

(Kosovo)
NO stay 90 days without visa. You may be required to give documentary evidence of the reason for your stay.

Albania
NO stay 90 days without visa

Macedonia
NO stay 90 days without visa

Montenegro
NO stay 90 days without visa

Turkey
Visa required. 90 day multiple entry visa issued on arrival for £10 payable in cash (pounds sterling fine).

Georgia
NO visa required. You can stay 360 days without a visa. Travel to the breakaway regions of South Ossetia and Abkhazia is not advised. No official borders between Russia and these regions are open to tourists.

Azerbaijan
Visa Required. Apply upto a month before or on visa on arrival for $101. Travel to area near Armenia border isn’t recommended especially the disputed region of Nagorno-Karabakh.

Armenia
Visa Required.Visa on arrival at land borders and airports or e-visa in advance via internet. Check Armenian Embassy website. Travel to area near Azerbaijan border isn’t recommended especially the disputed region of Nagorno-Karabakh.
